Center History

The Boston Sai Center was established in 1975 as the Cambridge Center when devotees started meeting at a Harvard university hall. After six years, the center became the Brookline Center, having moved to a devotee’s home in Brookline and subsequently to a nearby church on Carlton Street. The current meeting place for the Boston Sai Baba Center is at the "Sai Unity Center" located at 40 Old Ferry Rd. Lowell, MA.

Early activities of the Center consisted of devotional activities (Bhajan singing) and Study circle (discussion of relevant spiritual topics based on Sri Sathya Sai Baba’s teachings). Over the years, as the membership has grown, other wings have been added on: Sai Spiritual Education classes for children 6 – 18 years old; Service activities that the members could take part in and a Young Adult wing started in 1996 for members 19 – 35 years old. The Center continues to grow and add activities, service projects and special events on a regular basis.
