YA Service Activities

 

The Boston YA group is a dynamic group consisting of over 30 very active students and young professionals. So whether you are a student or a young professional, we are sure you will feel part of the group in no time!  

 

 

YA Activities: 


Monthly Satsang: (1st Friday Of The Month) 

First Friday of every month YAs meet for a Satsang at 7:30pm. Laid out in a relaxed informal setup, the Satsang gives an opportunity for YAs to get to know one another and new YAs can instantly connect with like- minded Sai friends. Information about the location of this monthly Satsang will be sent out in the Boston YA-times email.


Haley House Soup Kitchen Service: (2nd Sunday Of The Month)
On the Second Sunday of every month YAs volunteer at the Haley House Soup kitchen facility in Boston to prepare and serve lunch. This service project is from 8:45am to 12:30pm. Haley House is a facility that provides meals for homeless and other guests who are in need of a meal. On a typical day there are about 65 to 80 guests visiting this facility for lunch. Sancta Maria's Nursing Home Service: (3rd Saturday Of The Month)
Third Saturday of every month the center members (Adults and YAs) visit Sancta Maria from 10.00am to 12.00pm to sing English songs for the residents. Sancta Maria is an elderly nursing home facility located near Boston. If you need a ride or can give a ride please contact your YA Reps. who will be glad to help. Typically Pick-Up and Drop-Offs are coordinated around 9:45am at the Alewife ‘T’ Station nearby. (Sancta Maria Nursing Facility, 799 Concord Ave - Cambridge, MA)


Center YA Day: (3rd Sunday Of The Month) 

Third Sunday of every month is the center YA day. This is a center provided opportunity for YAs to take up roles as future leaders in the Sai center. YAs handle all center activities like setting up Swami’s altar; arranging for bhajans, moderating the center Study circle etc.
