Concord Prison Care Packages:

The coronavirus pandemic has been hard on all of us, but it has been especially tough for incarcerated members of our society. Inmates at the Concord Prison are unable to get out of their cells for either their daily outdoor activities or meals, and all visitations have been suspended.

The prison authorities asked us if we could do something to boost morale, and we responded by putting together 350 care packages. A typical care package contained shampoo, soap, toothpaste, deodorant, socks, and handwritten post cards.

We believe these packages brought a smile to each inmate’s face.

Daybreak Shelter Supply Donation:

The Daybreak Shelter provides a range of services to those struggling with substance abuse, homelessness, and opiate addiction, including educational help, mental health counseling, and emergency shelter.

Due to the coronavirus pandemic, the Shelter was forced to operate at a lower capacity while demand for its services remained high. It reached out to us because it was running low on supplies.

We provided 3-6 months worth of hygiene products, toiletries, water bottles, backpacks, water filtration systems, and groceries to the shelter. While this was a one-time project, we are considering making our support more regular since there is an ongoing need.

Face Mask Project:

When the coronavirus pandemic broke out, there was an immediate need for cloth face masks everywhere. Several shelters, prisons, health clinics, research units, schools, and nursing homes were looking for cloth face masks for their members.

We responded by making 2,300 cotton masks and providing them to local organizations in need of them. The community was appreciative of this timely and loving gesture.
